- "Librarians were often asking me about appropriate indigenous resources in their libraries for their students. For those schools with no IEAs, the NATSIEW website lists details for assessing good Indigenous resources."
NSW/ACT Independent Education Union
- "This web site provides an opportunity to explore various education resources related to the Aboriginals in Australia as well as Torres Strait Islanders. There is also a chronological reference to explore the past of Aboriginals in Australia.
I found the chronological history fascinating, especially reading about the Myall Creek Massacre of 1838. I continued searching on this topic, and came across some other reference material that provided more details than what was included on NATSIEW, specifically an in-depth article that covered the events almost “moment-by-moment” on http://www.goodbyebussamarai.com/MyallCreek%20Massacre.doc.
Other topics on NATSIEW include land and sea rights, legal and government, and identities, which can include by name or even in areas such as politics, art and protests. Another are of on this site was is “Other Topics”, which includes a wide variety of information, and I found the materials on atomic testing in Australia very interesting.
The chronological and topical history layouts on this site could serve as a model for others that discuss Indigenous peoples, and this is by far the best site I’ve examined so far."

- "This is an educational site which has an incredible amount of information under various topics such as culture, issues, training, organisations and resources. Also one can pick out information based on a geographical area which is good. I was impressed by the ‘On this day’ section where you can pick out a date and see the relevant information. It has links to sites on war and resistance and links to indigenous radio and television. There is a place to post suggestions and views and a section, which tells you how to use the Internet to get information. It is a well laid out and very useful site."

- "NATSIEW is certainly one of the best education gateways I have come across in my travels and that includes the international portals. I think it's because of the degree of commentary provided, the currency of the links, and the explicit evaluative criteria. I really like the focus on helping users to be critically aware of Internet resources. Not many other education portals have made their selection criteria and 'principles' so explicit, although most of the European and Scandinavian subject based gateways do this. So NATSIEW is up there in good company as the subject-based gateways seem to be the 'benchmark' in terms of quality."
